Roma 1-1 Barcelona: Florenzi stunner denies Champions League holders

Barcelona had to settle for a draw as they began the defence of their Champions League title with a 1-1 draw with Roma thanks to a stunning equaliser from Alessandro Florenzi.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring for the visitors after 20 minutes, heading home an Ivan Rakitic cross from close range at the far post.  

However, the visitors’ lead lasted just over 10 minutes as right-back Florenzi levelled the game in truly sensational style.

The right-back, spotting Ter Stegen off his line, fired home from just over the half-way line with a strike that will live long in the competition's memory.
