Liverpool 1-1 Norwich City: Ings' first Reds goal not enough as Martin equalises for Canaries

Danny ings first Liverpool goal was not enough to secure a win for Brendan Rodgers' side as Russell Martin levelled for Norwich City in a 1-1 Premier League draw.

Ings was not selected in the starting XI but replaced Belgium striker Christian Benteke at half-time, with the former Aston Villa man believed to have suffered from a hamstring problem.

And Ings was quick to make his mark with a comfortably composed finish on 48 minutes, following some neat work by Alberto Moreno.

But Norwich were not to let Liverpool gain all three points as an awkward punch from goalkeeper Simon Mignolet fell to Martin who knocked the ball over the Belgium goalkeeper after 61 minutes.

Liverpool pushed and pressed following the equaliser but good chances were squandered by Roberto Firmino and Coutinho.
