Celtic were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at Ajax in their opening Europa League game after a late goal from Lasse Schone salvaged a point for the hosts after Emilio Izaguirre had been sent off.
The visitors got off to a perfect start with Nir Biton opening the scoring after just eight minutes. A swift attack saw Kris Commons feed the Israeli who finished the move at the far post.
Ajax were quick to respond with Viktor Fischer finishing a superb team move before Mikael Lustig headed Celtic back in front just before half-time.
The Scottish champions looked on target for an impressive win but lost Izaguirre after the defender picked up a second yellow card for a foul on El Ghazi with 20 minutes remaining.
The hosts sensed an opportunity and duly grabbed an equaliser with substitute Schone's free kick into the box beating everyone, including goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
