I'll return to Real Madrid stronger, insists James

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has vowed to return to action stronger after a torn thigh muscle ruled him out for up to a month.

The 24-year-old sustained an injury to his left thigh during Colombia's international friendly against Peru in New Jersey on Tuesday, with national team doctor Carlos Ulloa initially insisting the knock was not serious.

Scans in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital on Thursday revealed the former Monaco man could miss three to four weeks of action, although James has spoken of his optimism over his recovery.

He said: "In my mind is only coming back more strong. Coming back stronger!"

James could miss up to seven fixtures in all competitions for Madrid, including Champions League ties with Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo, as well as a La Liga derby with Atletico Madrid at the start of October.

Full-back Danilo also returned from the international break with an injury that will rule him out for a month.
