Manchester City ran out 4-1 winners over Sunderland in the League Cup on Tuesday, with summer signing Kevin De Bruyne on the scoresheet for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
The Belgian - a club-record signing from Wolfsburg in the summer - netted his side's second goal after Sergio Aguero had opened the scoring in the ninth minute.
Vito Mannone then inadvertently turned the ball into his own net before Raheem Sterling added a fourth before half-time.
Ola Toivonen grabbed a late consolation goal in the 83rd minute, but it was City who comfortably progressed to the fourth round of the competition.
