Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa extended his season’s tally in the Russia Premier League with a brace to help CSKA Moscow to an emphatic 6-4 away victory over Mordovia Saransk.
After a going 3-0 down in the opening 45minutes, it took the Army men 14 minutes after the break to restore parity with three goals in nine minutes from Kirill Panchenkoin, Zoran Tošić and Seydou Doumbia, cancelling out first half efforts from Lutsenko, Rykov and Mukhametshin for the homeside.
Lutsenko doubled his tally on the night to restore Saransk’s lead but three late strikes from the visitors in the final ten minutes denied the home side any chance of a second victory of the season.
After a 12 minutes wait for an equalizer, Musa scored twice in five minutes to level scores and send CSKA in front for his fifth of the season before Doumbia made it 6-4 with his second on the night with two minutes left on the clock.
The victory means Musa and his team-mates maintain their lead on the log with 25 points after nine league games while Mordovia Saransk sit 12th with seven points from the same number of game.
