Real Madrid have confirmed that Sergio Ramos has disclocated his shoulder.
The defender sustained the injury during the club's 4-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday and was subsequently substituted, with Nacho Fernandez his replacement.
Ramos has since had his condition evaluated and Real have confirmed that he has indeed suffered a dislocation, meaning he faces a race against time to be fit for next month's Madrid derby against Atletico, which takes place on October 4, while he could also miss games against Granada, Athletic Bilbao, Malmo and Malaga.
An official club statement read: "Following the tests carried out on Sergio Ramos today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with dislocated acromioclavicular joint in his left shoulder."
Ramos took to Twitter after news of his setback broke, and vowed to "come back stronger", with Real currently second in La Liga after three games.
