The Premier League's vast riches still aren't enough to buy the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Thomas Muller, according to Franz Beckenbauer.
The English top flight sold its TV rights for over £5 billion earlier this year in a record deal - an increase of around 70 per cent from the previous agreement.
But Beckenbauer is confident the game's best players will continue to ply their trade outside of England, regardless of the cash on offer.
"Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller - of the best players in the world, the English clubs did not get any.
"We still have great footballers in Germany."
Bayern's honorary president added his happiness with the Bavarians' current squad and hopes coach Pep Guardiola will sign a new contract.
"What makes me so positive about Bayern is that the squad is more variable than they were last season.
"Guardiola has not yet made a decision on his future, but I hope that he will stay longer.
"Borussia Dortmund have returned to their fast-paced style of play - as they were in the years they won the league.
"This Dortmund team has the potential to challenge Bayern for the title until the end of the season."
