Up-tempo USA victory was the Brazil we want – Dunga

Brazil coach Dunga expressed his delight with side’s performance in their 4-1 Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour victory over USA on Tuesday.
The Selecao took the lead through Hulk before substitutes Neymar and Rafinha came off the bench to lead Dunga’s side to a romping victory at the Gillette Stadium, three days after a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Costa Rica in New Jersey.
Dunga admitted afterwards that the up-tempo, dynamic attacking play he saw from his team in Boston is exactly what he’s been striving for since returning to the role in July 2014.

“Today, we have played at a rapid pace with the ball. And I think that is what we are seeking,” Dunga told reporters.
“We know it's not easy, but we need to put together a competitive team and that is exactly what you saw in that match. And especially the technical quality of the Brazilian players. When Brazil have the ball we always want to attack and score goals.”
Dunga went on to say he was delighted with the back-to-back victories, despite some criticism over his team’s performance against Costa Rica, and pointed out that the likes of Douglas Santos, Fabinho and Rafinha Alcantara all gained valuable experience ahead of next year’s Rio Olympics.
"Costa Rica was a very difficult team to play against, because they have a very strong defensive system. They almost knocked Netherlands out of the World Cup, but we still created a lot of chances against them,” he said.
“This week we had three players from the Olympic team and they were very good. We need to give them that winning mentality and show them how good they are.”
Next month Brazil kick off their World Cup qualifying campaign with matches against Chile and Venezuela, and Dunga is confident they can build on the momentum gained in the US - even in the absence of suspended captain Neymar.
"We had already played without Neymar,” he said.
"More important is to form a solid group so everyone can come in and contribute. Our work was very fruitful tonight. Now we will decide what will be best for the national team.”
