Joel Obi Is The Highest Paid Nigerian Player In The Serie A, See Top 10 List

Super Eagles midfielder Joel Obi is the highest earning Nigerian player in the Serie A.

According to a report by Italy’s authoritative sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport  Joel Obi takes home €500, 000 (N112m) every year.

That annual pay makes him the seventh best paid player at Torino behind Quagliarella, Amauri, Belotti, Maxi Lopez, Moretti and Glik.

Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is being paid €300,000 (N67m) annually by the Serie A side.

In the Serie A in general, Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi  tops the list as the highest earner with wages of €6.5million annually.

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is second on the list with an earning of €3.2m, while Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is the division's third-best paid, receiving the same wage as Edin Dzeko €4.5m.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and defensive midfielder Sami Khedira both earn €4m rounding up the top five.
